COLOURS & MUSIC
Colours and sound effects, change the mood of film & in this case with my film being a documentary I felt it would be best to explore from my previous post how each form of their documentaries took place in the editing and sound stage, to give me a idea on what sort of colours & music that would need to present in my own documentary.
COLOUR IN STORYTELLING
Before I researched into certain documentaries, I remembered a video that explored story telling and colours within storytelling as a whole, I wanted to include this to remind myself what sort of colours would work best for my production.
THE COLOUR THEORY
''In the visual arts, color theory or colour theory is a body of practical guidance to colour mixing and the visual effects of a specific colour combination. There are also definitions (or categories) of colours based on the colour wheel: primary colour, secondary colour and tertiary colour.

It's very important to have an understanding of how the audience perceives a given film. One concept is Criswell's ideas about the way films use colour for either balance or discordance. This can be extremely powerful to set up a colour palette and then break it when you want to draw attention to something.
How we use different colours has a dramatic impact on how we subconsciously relate to the characters. The Breaking Bad example is perfect, as it shows Walt, a character just starting to do bad things, slowly being consumed by evil, and by removing his red shirt and revealing a darker one, we're seeing the progression of his character.
To serve the characters and move the story forward. As Roger Deakins said: "It’s easier to make colour look good, but harder to make it service the story." Just because you can do something with the colours in the scene doesn't necessarily mean you should, but if you can enhance a scene by utilising colour to your advantage. . With the powerful colour correcting/grading tools at our disposal, we have an even greater degree of control over that element than at any point in cinema history —but we must use those tools wisely.

THE IMPORTANCE OF MUSIC WITHIN FILM
Music is something that shapes film hugely & for my productions I need to do some serious research into understanding the importance of music & understanding the correct music I should use within my final films, below is research into the importance of music & also where the music for documentary has came from.
Music changes the way we feel towards a film, happy - sad it doesn't matter music builds the effect more onto us & we will feel that certain way,
We match visuals with music & that creates a film.
IMPORTANCE OF MUSIC IN FILM
''Music's purpose is to express and modulate emotions. We use it to soothe, psych up, woo, enrage, sadden and cheer each other, or ourselves. ... They may not understand the semantic content of language, but they understand the emotional content of music just fine''

INSPIRATIONS & THEIR EDITING STAGES
Now by far one of my favourite inspiration for this type of documentary has to be Minimalism, it has such a great story and meaning behind it, that I couldn't not include this one in my research - So I found a video by the filmmaker where he produces a reflective documentary, called ''Making Minimalism'' he shows the process and the story of the film process, interviewing everyone involved & telling the story from how they started with a $0 budget to spending over near $100,000 while creating this amazing documentary.
In this episode, he doesnt go over the editing stage as a whole but it shows parts, mostly to do with the sound in the film and how he took out editing.
CONCLUSION
The colours throughout my film, wont overall change to much but they will change in a sense that lightens the mood & conversation of topic. After researching into documentaries I explored before hand & how they took out the editing process, its made me understand just how a slight change in colour, can change a production from okay, to thats amazing.
